Natalie Cole Prepares for Comeback Concert

Singer Natalie Cole, who underwent life-saving kidney transplant surgery on May 19th, is recovering quickly. So quickly that she’s already planning her comeback concert.
Cole has announced that her first post-surgery show will be at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 9th.
On the advice of her doctors, Natalie Cole canceled her summer tour dates so she could recuperate.
“My family and I want to express our extreme appreciation for the outpouring of kindness we have received from all over the country,” the 59-year-old Cole said in a statement.
On the same day Cole received her life-saving kidney, her sister Carole died of lung cancer. “In the midst of sorrow I am still able to celebrate my new lease on life. There is always a silver lining.”

Kenny G and Spyro Gyra Will Headline Syracuse Jazz Fest

Fathers Day festivities will dominate this coming weekend, but Jazz fans in the northeast may want to make plans to head up to central New York the following Friday and Saturday, June 26th and 27th. That’s when the 27th Annual Syracuse Jazz Fest will take place on the campus of Onondaga Community College.
Headlining this year will be Smooth Jazz superstars Spyro Gyra on Friday night and Kenny G on Saturday night. Also performing will be Jazz greats Randy Brecker, Bill Evans, David Garfield, Alex Ligertwood, Lenny Castro, Steve Ferrone, Will Lee, and Andy Narell.
What’s a lineup like that cost? Well, your recession weary wallet will no doubt be pleased to know that it’s free! Just bring a lawn chair.
